Jared Wynn has been named the new Interim Head Wrestling Coach for Ponca City Public Schools pending board approval.

“I am excited to continue the great foundation work we have been building as a team the last few years I have been with this program,” said Wynn. “I am looking forward to this season and building our athletes to higher performers. Higher performance is succeeding beyond standard norms consistently in our education and competitions. I plan to make our Wildcat family proud.”

Ponca City School Athletic Director Jason Leavitt said, “Ponca City wrestling will be in great hands with Jared Wynn. Jared will be a great transition for our student athletes moving forward. He has been instrumental in rebuilding our program at all levels. Our coaching staff is top notch and understands the rich tradition here in Ponca City!”

Jared is a Blackwell High School graduate. While in Blackwell, he earned two high school state championship titles. Jared furthered his education at Oklahoma City University. He was a lay coach for Deer Creek of Edmond for two years. Jared came back home to be an assistant coach in Blackwell in 2012 when they won a team championship. He came to Ponca City in 2015 and has been teaching PE at Liberty Elementary and assisting former Wrestling Coach Jason Leavitt.
