Mavericks soccer student-athletes of the week at Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa are Taylor Sargent, women, and Alejandro Olmos, men.
Head Women’s Coach Juan de Dios Castillo and Head Men’s Coach Michael DuRoy announced the selections for the week ending Sept. 25.
“Our team has been working hard as a unit, but Taylor’s saves have been fundamental for our team to reach the Number 3 position at the national rankings,” Castillo noted. “Her skills and leadership on and off the field have helped the team tremendously so far this season. She is a top class goal keeper.”
Sargent is a sophomore goalkeeper from The Colony, Texas
“Alejandro led the Mavericks defense to a 4-0 shutout of Region 2 rival NEO,” DuRoy said. “The Mavs allowed only two shots in the second half.”
Olmos is a freshman defender from Madrid, Spain.
