An open letter to the public from Amanda Porter-Cain. Candidate for Ponca City Public Schools, Office No. 4
My husband, Jason Cain, and I both attended Ponca City Public Schools. I started my academic journey here in 7th grade after completing elementary at Kildare. He was a Liberty Leopard before entering junior high and high school here. We have five children. Kobe, our oldest, is a 2017 graduate. While in PCPS he was an active member of our Big Blue and played football. He is now a member of the Air Reserve and is completing his electrical training. He lives and works in Wichita. Culley is a member of the class of 2021. He is a starter for your Wildcat basketball team. Roman is a member of the class of 2022 and is enjoying his freshmen year. Raecyn is in the class of 2024 and hopes to be a Wildcat basketball player when he enters the high school. Carsyn, our only daughter, is 4 years old.
My husband and I own and operate Cain’s Lawn Care and Sun N Fun Waterpark. We also coach basketball at First Lutheran School where our youngest boy attends school and I am the Athletic Director. We attend First Lutheran Church. We are rooted in our community and have a passion for improving the lives and opportunities of our youth. In past years I coached swimming through the high school and our local youth program, Ponca Sailfish Swim Team.
I hope everyone gets out to vote on Tuesday. I hope to be elected to this position so that ALL KIDS will be protected in this district, regardless of background, extra curricular activities, etc. NO CHILD should feel unsafe! EVERY CHILD needs the same opportunities to thrive and grow! I am passionate about our young people. I want to do everything I can to protect them while giving them every advantage to grow and learn and excel. Please go vote for me on Tuesday so that your child and every child in our district will be able to experience a difference, in the halls, their classrooms and their everyday lives!
THANK YOU!
