BLACKWELL – Eastbound and Westbound State Highway 11 will be narrowed to one lane with a temporary traffic signal over the Chikaskia River between US-177/Main Street and O Street/Radio Tower Road on the east side of Blackwell starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday for an ongoing multiple bridge rehabilitation project which began in 2018.
Work is completing on the first bridge west of O Street and the first one to the east of O Street. Motorists should expect delays as the work zone is being shifted Wednesday morning to the Chikaskia River bridge. Speed limit remains reduced within the workzone.
The $5.3 million contract was awarded in May 2018 to Gibson & Associates Inc. to address four bridges.
