MEDFORD – The Grant County Sheriff’s Office released a statement on Facebook Monday morning for residents in Grant County to be aware of a scam call.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a scammer called a citizen spoofing the sheriff’s office phone number, which is (580)395-2356. The scammer was posing as a Medford Police Officer and was advising the victim that an arrest warrant was issued. The scammer left a different number of 844-242-0008.

Grant County Sheriff’s Office followed up by saying this is not true. You will not receive a call from the sheriff’s office or any other LE agency regarding the issuance of an arrest warrant. You may disregard these calls.

If you have any concern of the legitimacy of the call, you can call the Grant County Sheriff’s Office or your local LE office.

Do not send money or give them any personal information.
