PONCA CITY – The Ponca City Police Department responded to a shooting incident at 8:56 p.m. Thursday evening in the 1200 block of North Oak Street in Ponca City.
According to police logs, a 30-year-old male received a gunshot to the back of his head. The male victim was then transported to the emergency room at Alliance Health Ponca City. Police were later advised of a grey or white Jeep Cherokee that left at a high rate of speed after the shooting in an unknown direction. It was also mentioned in the log that a neighbor living in the same block of the shooting might have video evidence for police.
A search warrant has since been issued for assault with a deadly weapon.
