Ponca City Public Schools have two rich musical middle school band programs filled with many aspiring young musicians. The West & East Middle School Concert Bands and Percussion Ensembles will perform their annual Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 6 at 7:00 PM in the West Middle School Auditorium.
The program will promptly begin with the beginning Band (close to 100 members strong), which is largest enrollment has been in Ponca City for many years. Director Andrew Orr said, “These bands have a tradition of giving fabulous performances, and Tuesday will be no exception. The show will feature many holiday favorites, including “The King’s Flourish”, and a medley from “The Polar Express”. The students have spent many hours preparing the music for this concert, and it will be the best free entertainment in town.” The middle school bands are led by directors Andrew Orr, Keith Crocker, and David Christy.
