The Ponca City Area Crime Stoppers board met Thursday morning and approved rewards for two callers during the month of November. Lieutenant Richard Evans serves on the Crime Stoppers board liaison for the Police Department and wants to encourage callers that provided information to call back in to see if they have been approved for a reward.

“There were a number of callers for the two surveillance pictures we released in November” Evans said. “The callers that provide the most accurate and detailed information the quickest, that leads to an arrest and or the recovery of stolen property are approved for rewards”, Evans added.

When a tipster has information and want to be considered for a reward they call (580) 762-5100. After the information is given, the tipster is given an identification number. The call is completely anonymous. The identification number is what the tipster is required to call back in with to claim their reward. Rewards are approved at the weekly PCACS board meeting on the first Thursday of each month.

A press release circulated on November 9th included surveillance pictures of the suspects entering Wal-Mart to use a stolen credit card led to a tipster providing information with the suspects’ names and addresses. This caller’s information led to the recovery of stolen property from four burglaries including the one featured in the release. This case began with a purse, wallet and contents taken from a parked vehicle in the 900 block of East Grand on November 3.

A press release circulated on November 15th also included surveillance picture of the female suspect as she entered Wal-Mart in Ponca City. This case began from a theft from a vehicle in Arkansas City of a wallet and debit card sometime between November 10 and November 12.

If you were a caller and provided information on either of the above cases, call (580) 767-0376 Monday through Friday between 8am and noon or 1pm to 5pm to claim your reward.
