PONCA CITY – The City of Ponca City experienced historic flooding on Tuesday. Many residents reported water flooding their storm shelters, and even reports of entire yards flooded. Some areas in Ponca City had to be measured in feet instead of inches to determine how deep the water was. Different roadways in the area were covered with water, including Highland Avenue near the Bois Darc Creek crossing. Crews at Kaw Lake’s Hideaway Marina spent the day re-attaching the dock to land. Ponca City had an estimate 6 inches of rain.
