PONCA CITY – Ponca City Broadband will officially offer service to residential customers located within the Phase 1 area beginning Monday, July 8. The Phase 1 includes the area between North 14th Street and Union Street and between Bradley Avenue and Highland Avenue. Residential service to homes on Virginia Avenue, Glenside Avenue, Whitworth Avenue, and Elmwood Avenue will be available when the electric cable project is complete along those streets.
Ponca City Broadband is a new utility service providing high-speed internet access, using a brand new network consisting of 100% fiber optic cabling. Ponca City Broadband service plans do not involve long-term contracts, do not include data caps, and do not include fluctuating prices from month to month. Customers will simply receive the bandwidth they purchased, every time they connect to the system.
Residential service:
- 50 Mbps, $60.00 per month
- 100 Mbps, $100.00 per month
- 1 Gbps, $250.0 per month
Phase 1 residents wanting to sign up for service will need to sign a customer service agreement and pay (or make arrangements to pay) a service activation fee at the Utility Billing Office, located in City Hall, at 516 E. Grand Avenue. Ponca City Broadband staff will then contact new customers to arrange an in-home installation visit. In-home installations will consist of fiber optic cabling being installed through one exterior wall of the home, ending at a faceplate. From the faceplate, a fiber optic jumper cable will connect to the ONT (fiber modem). The ONT is capable of hard-wired connections and has four built-in WiFi radios and an antennae for the best possible connection experience.
For more information, please contact the Ponca City Broadband Office Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at 580-767-1267.
