The Kay County deputies investigated three burglaries that happened over the recent holiday weekend, two of the reports occurred in Braman in Northwestern Kay County.
On Friday, July 5, deputies responded to a break in report at Kelle Oil where nothing was reported missing. Later that morning, deputies were dispatched to the Braman Coop where another break in was reported, and money was missing from the cash box.
The Newkirk Coop would be the third place to report a break in. Reports say that several hundred dollars worth of merchandise was stolen, but was able to be recovered.
Kay County deputies arrested 35-year-old Austin Dean Allen of Ponca City in the 3500 block of B Street at 12:39 p.m. Friday. Allen also has a burglary case pending from 2018 in which he owes nearly $440. Allen was sentenced to drug court on Feb. 29.
Allen is currently being held in the Kay County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
