NEWKIRK – A Blackwell man entered a no contest plea on Monday in the Kay County District Court.
According to court records, Allen Clonts, 48, is facing felony charges of possession of a controlled dangerous drug with intent to distribute, child neglect, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license is cancelled/suspended/revoked. The charges were given in April 2019. Clonts received a 5-year sentence in prison with all but six months suspended, and also received a one-year sentence in the Kay County Jail with six months suspended. Clonts was granted credit for time served and received a fine of $10,000 with $9,500 suspended.
Clonts has a court date for the compliance document scheduled for Dec. 17.
