NEWKIRK – One former Ponca City resident entered a no contest plea in the Kay County District Court on Monday, Aug. 26, after a felony count of lewd molestation.
Ryan Joshua Butler, 26, received 25 years in prison with all but one year in the Kay County Jail suspended. Following the no contest plea, one felony charge by rape of instrumentation, and one charge of sexual abuse to a child under the age of 12 were dismissed.
Butler was charged on Feb. 1, 2019, and was given orders to complete a sex offender treatment program. Butler is not allowed to have any contact with the victim, and must register as a sex offender upon release.
