Perry Funeral Home Asking For Public Attendance For Late Oklahoma World War II Veteran Without Family

PERRY, Okla. – Brown Dugger Funeral Home in Perry is inviting the public to attend funeral services for Herman Augusta White, a late Oklahoma World War II veteran with no surviving family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4. White was born on Dec. 1, 1929 in Wayside, Ok. near Bartlesville in northeast Oklahoma. White later joined the Navy from 1945 to 1946 where he went to fight in World War II as a second-class seaman on the USS Muliphen. He was later awarded the Asian-Pacific Campaign Medal.

White’s wife, Evelyn, died of pneumonia at 80-years-old. His only son, Mickey, died of cancer at age 47.

White donated his home and possessions to a local baptist church in the Perry area.

A moment of silence will take place, along with a red, white, and blue balloon release at the funeral service which will be located at the Grace Hill Cemetery at 500 Memorial Drive in Perry.
