Former Kay County Commissioner Pleads No Contest, Will Serve Time In Prison

NEWKIRK – Former Kay County Commissioner Tyson Rowe pleaded “No Contest” Wednesday afternoon in Newkirk for 6 counts of felony embezzlement and 9 counts of willful violation of law regarding official conduct that took place between 2011 and 2014. Rowe’s felony count of racketeering was dismissed and his 10 year sentence was deferred. Rowe will serve 90 days in prison starting in December 2019 and will be paying over $58,000 total ($28,030 and $30,000) in individual and joint cases of restitution.
