In a statement released today, Dr. David Pennington has resigned as Ponca City School Superintendent and has accepted the position of Executive Director of the United Suburban Schools Association (USSA).
There will be a Board of Education meeting on Thursday May 25th at 4:30 to discuss Dr. Pennington’s resignation and to map out a plan for finding his replacement.
Pennington received a B.S., an M.S., and an Ed.D. from Oklahoma State University. He was president of the Oklahoma Association of School Administrators in 2004 and served on its Board of Directors. Prior to coming to Ponca City Public Schools, he was superintendent of the Blackwell Public Schools.
Dr. Pennington’s tentative last day will be August 30, 2017.
